Finally Made it to Cairns!

G'day All!
At long last our lass and I made it up to sunny Cairns! The weather is great and the food is even better, we were both a little worried that our trusty van wouldnt make the 1900km trip! But to our suprise she prevailed! En route we managed to fit in a 3 day trip to Fraser Island stopping in a 5 star luxury beach resort .... complete with wild Dingos and all you can eat Buffets ... as you can image ... those pounds have piled on .... but if you cant do it when your on your hols then when can you do it!
After Fraser we set off up the coast to Rockhampton ... spending the night in a BP Petrol station car park, NICE! Finally we made it up to Airle Beach and risked life and limb by throwing ourselves out of a plane at ... not 1 ... not 2  ... not 3 .... but 8000 feet! I also manged to get a Video to prove it ... I'll make every effort to get a copy of the tape in digital format to you all ASAP! Its very funny!
After that we set off on the final leg of our Road trip to Cairns ... stopping off in Townsville along the way .. and yet another night was spent on the side of the road. We finally got into Cairns about 3 hours ago and we're just off to book us some Barrier Reef diving! YEY!
Well ... thats all for now, dont want to bore you to much, sorry i've not been able to post any photos on my website but the camper van is not internet friendly!
Have a great one and look forward to hearing from you all soon!
Mitch and Rach!

A little about Me

My photo
My name is Mitch Beaumont and I've been a technology professional since 1999. I began my career working as a desk-side support engineer for a medical devices company in a small town in the middle of England (Ashby De La Zouch). I then joined IBM Global Services where I began specialising in customer projects which were based on and around Citrix technologies. Following a couple of very enjoyable years with IBM I relocated to London to work as a system operations engineer for a large law firm where I responsible for the day to day operations and development of the firms global Citrix infrastructure. In 2006 I was offered a position in Sydney, Australia. Since then I've had the privilege of working for and with a number of companies in various technology roles including as a Solutions Architect and Technical team leader.
